Great Exchange Ministries is here to assist the church in fulfilling the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19-20: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.""(NIV)
We do not have a church building, temple or synagogue. We meet from house to house, in jails, prisons and in the community.
Acts 2:42-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
We would like to invite you to join with us in passionately following Christ Jesus our Lord. Currently we are gathering at 904 Central on Monday and Friday nights at 7:00 P.M. (This is off of Fair Avenue behind the latte stand.)
Jail/Prison Aftercare
We assist individuals as they transition back into their community from jail, prison and/or treatment. Our vision is to reduce the recidivism rates by offering intensive discipleship programming, life skills training and practical apprenticeships.
The purpose of this ministry is to set captives free. Our long term goal is not merely sobriety or that the individual stays out of jail or prison, but that they live a truly free and productive life.
The discipleship process, hopefully, will begin while they are incarcerated through programs like the God Pod which we established in the Yakima County DOC and then continue upon their release. We receive referrals from facility chaplains, prison ministries and the Department of Corrections to locate individuals who are truly ready to submit themselves to an intensive biblical discipleship program.
Our primary focus is in the area of after care. This includes housing options(House of Refuge)and community based discipleship classes, counseling and prayer. Each individual will be assessed and then placed in programming to meet their specific needs.
Further we network with other faith-based organizations, community and governmental agencies to address the specific needs of these individuals who have been caught in the cycle of addiction and crime. We do not claim to have all the answers, but we know that all of the answers are available within the community.
We appreciate you visiting our site. We welcome your thoughts regarding our ministry, our site and its contents. If you know anyone who might benefit from our services feel free to refer them our way. May God richly bless you, today!
